Gaffr Weekly – 07/04/2021

Player of the Week

Teemu Pukki – Norwich – 21 points

Pukki captainers made big gains over Toney backers over the Easter fixtures capped with a hat-trick in Norwich’s 7-0 win over Huddersfield. Norwich now need just 5 more points to secure promotion and could even be up as soon as this Saturday if they can beat Derby and other results go their way. You would expect Pukki will remain in the starting line-up until promotion is secured however, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a reduction in minutes after that. Pukki will be leading the line for Finland at the Euros this Summer so Daniel Farke may opt to give his star striker a break ahead of that in the hope to have him back in prime condition for next season.

Team of the Week

Wycombe

Wycombe were the team of the 2 fixtures over Easter. They took 6 points and kept 2 clean sheets from a 1-0 win vs Blackburn and then a 3-0 win away at Rotherham. With Sheffield Wednesday also thumping Cardiff 5-0 following their team of the week for me last time it is beginning to get tighter at the bottom of the table.

Wycombe have now taken 10 points from the last 15 keeping their season alive and with Swansea having now lost 4 in a row the GW42 meeting between the sides maybe no longer looks the plum fixture for the Swans it did a couple of weeks ago.

Pick of the Week

Viktor Johansson – Rotherham – 4.0

GW41 – Huddersfield A, QPR H, Coventry H

It’s a triple game week for Rotherham and I’m going to play my Jeepers Keepers chip with their keeper Viktor Johansson. The Swede hasn’t been in goal all season but he has been in the team since early February so I’m taking the punt that he plays all 3 fixtures. With clean sheets per half on offer in Gaffr there is potentially 6 chances to add to appearance points there along with save and performance points.

Differential of the Week

The Wycombe Back Line

GW41 – Luton H

3 clean sheets in a row now for Wycombe and a home game against a Luton side sat safe in midtable. Swansea and Bristol City follow this, 2 sides not exactly free scoring.
