Sun Dream Team – Frenchy_Fpls Look Ahead to April and the Players to Target

As we approach a new month, I thought this would be a good chance to evaluate the popular players in the game and also look ahead to April and beyond to try and identify the players that we should be targeting for our Dream Team Squads, to do this I will be going through each position and trying to pick out the players that we should be considering for our squads.

For goalkeepers I think this is a simple choice between the two goalkeepers who have the most matches in the month of April (8) in addition to playing for two sides who have been very strong defensively. First up is Ederson (4.2M) who is a safe route into a Manchester City backline that has been so strong throughout this season, two fixtures against Dortmund as well as matches against Leicester, Leeds and Chelsea indicate that it may be safer to look at Edouard Mendy (3.7M). Since Thomas Tuchel became manager at Chelsea they have been racking up the clean sheets and with a nice looking tie in the Champions League against Porto as well as matches against West Brom, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Fulham in the month of April the Chelsea defence looks an enticing prospect in the coming matches.

Moving onto defenders, once again I will be looking Manchester City and Chelsea. My first defender pick to consider is Cesar Azpilicueta (5.1M) who is the most nailed of the Chelsea backline therefore he is likely to pick up the most points in the month of April and beyond, however Marcos Alonso (3.4M) could offer plenty of value due to his high ceiling at a lower price, but it is worth noting that he is very unlikely to play the majority of games so there is a big risk reward factor attached to the Spaniard. The 2nd defender that I like is Ruben Dias (4.5M) who has been a permanent fixture at the centre of the Manchester City defence this season and for this reason coupled with his high Dream Team ratings and goal threat is a great option for the upcoming run of 8 fixtures. I think Joao Cancelo (6.0M) and John Stones (5.3M) can also offer a lot of points in the upcoming run and a double or triple up with Dias is a viable strategy for the remainder of the season however I prefer Dias due to the security of starts as well as his lower price tag.

For midfielders I don’t think you can look past Kevin De Bruyne (6.5M). With Manchester City having 8 matches this month it looks primed for Kevin De Bruyne to rack up the points. With this being said a double up or triple up with Ilkay Gundogan (4.6M), Phil Foden (4.3M) or Riyad Mahrez (4.6M) also looks tempting and any of these names could end up being the top midfielder in the month of April. It is also worth considering is the Chelsea duo Mason Mount (3.5M) and Kai Havertz (2.8M), both players have looked sharp in recent weeks and could prove to be bargains for Dream Team Managers. It goes without saying that Bruno Fernandes (4.9M) again looks an attractive option and with 7 games this month he looks like a near essential player for our squads at his relatively kind price.

Despite only having 6 matches in the month of April, Harry Kane (6.7M) looks in great form and it will come as no surprise that the English forward is my main striker pick this month. With the news that Sergio Ramos is injured the attention will also switch back to the likes of Mohammad Salah (5.8M) and Diogo Jota (2.9M) with the in-form Portuguese looking especially good value for the coming weeks. Other strikers that I feel we should be considering are Marcus Rashford (4.7M) with a kind Europa League draw against Granada as well as the Manchester City duo of Gabriel Jesus (5.1M) and Raheem Sterling (5.6M) who should be able to pick up a lot of points in their 8 matches this month. It is also worth keeping an eye on the form of Jamie Vardy (4.7M) who towards the middle of the month has a very nice run and could be worth bringing into our squads during this run.

That brings an end to my opening article. I hope you all enjoyed reading and I hope you all smash Dream Team over the next month!
