Sky FF GW 28 Review 30.3.2021

With the international break giving us all a 2 week break from fantasy football, I’m sure like many other managers a break and recharge of the batteries was much needed.

GW 28 Review

Just a quick one this week as the last gameweek is now a distant memory. Having at least 1 player on each of the 3 gamedays, Raphinha, Dunk and Kane all delivered on with the armband with Antonio adding a couple of cheeky assists. My other player, Emi Martinez didn’t do much to trouble the scorers but a 58 point total was enough to lift me to 37th.

Gameweek 30 Preview

Saturday gives us the benefit of seeing the Chelsea lineups vs West Brom with Azpi the likely captain. Should he miss out for some reason I’ll likely switch the armband to Raphinha, who has a lucrative matchup vs an uninspiring Sheffield United outfit.I can see Sunday being a split between Bruno Fernandes and Harry Kane for the armband. I’m playing the fixtures and find it difficult to avoid Kane vs Newcastle. Hopefully Southgate gives him an early rest to cement this decision. Monday gives me a choice between Antonio and DCL with the Everton man the preferred option given Palace’s ineptitude against set pieces. The other decision I have to make is on a Wolves player to give me coverage for the Friday fixture vs Fulham and potentially further ahead. Patricio let me down earlier in the season but Villa have faded lately and run into some difficult fixtures so this is an option. Neto for Gundogan is another possibility but Wolves don’t tend to offer much in attack so it’s likely Patricio or I don’t bother.

Looking further ahead

Locked into a 3 4 3 formation, any transfers beyond this week would ideally favour defensive assets. Leicester and Liverpool have plenty to play for and nice fixtures ahead too. Soyuncu, old friends Trent and Robbo or potentially another Chelsea defender are worth considering, but other than Lewis Dunk I have a nice spread of players across 10 teams.Another player I like is Tielemans. With Leicester out of the Europa league, he is a mainstay in the team and offers a set piece threat when Maddison is out and the possibility of passing or tackle tiers. Diogo Jota is also in my thoughts, but as a Salah owner he is difficult to fit in without making a sideways transfer. A Liverpool attacking double up could be worth a look, particularly if they drop out of the UCL and are forced to go gung ho in the League. In terms of fixtures, Arsenal have a lovely run ahead of them but can we trust Arteta enough not to rotate? I’m not convinced. At some point I’ll need to consider one of these moves outside of a very rigid template if I really want to make a push for the top spots. It’s been a great season but just how great remains to be seen.

Thanks for reading and good luck with Gameweek 30
