People of the #FPLCommunity! Are you tired of captain blanks? Then fear not, The Guardians are here to save the day!

Each week we’ll bring you our captain tips for the upcoming games, and hopefully some good laughs!

We are now going into what looks like will be the biggest double gameweek of the season, the big DGW26! We are all very excited to see how the players we pick fare this week, and to hear how you, the reader, got on when the week is all done and dusted!

Let’s get to it!

A very two-sided result for last weeks picks, with the banker and the medium rare hauling, and the other two getting disappointingly low scores. Southampton as a whole were disappointing to be honest. Let’s hope the picks do better this week, and that you get your captain right! Who do we believe can drive you to unrivalled glory? Wait no longer, it’s time for this GWs (possible) heroes.

For each GW we will bring you a captain option from 4 different categories, as shown in the picture below.

That’s all the info done, first captain pick coming right up!

Banker🏦: Harry Kane (TOT)

For the first time in four weeks, we have a banker that is not named Bruno Fernandes! That alone shows that he has been very consistent lately, and a relatively safe captain option. This week however, we want to go somewhere else for the safe captain option, although Bruno definitely also is a good bet. Harry Kane is back, and it looks like he will be a popular captain this week, and maybe even a triple captain (!) if we are to judge how the FPL Twitter environment has been this past week.

On paper, the fixtures Kane will face in the DGW look favourable, and he is the talisman in the ever-attacking Spurs frontline. His partnership with Son has been electric, with both players providing assists and scoring goals seemingly every week. Kane has also been particularly good against the bottom 8 teams this season, only blanking once in the 10 games and averaging 9.2 pts.

Add that he is on penalties and occasionally direct free-kicks, and you have a cracking captaincy option on your hands! We have high hopes that Kane brings home the bacon for the ones trusting him with the armband this gameweek.

Banker Rating: 9/10

Medium Rare🥩: Dominic Calvert-Lewin (EVE)

The early season hero, 40% owned (who would have thought) @CraigKemp32 look-alike is finally back from injury and back to form. Before his 2-game hiatus in DGW24, he got 3 returns in 2 games with 2 of them coming against United. He then came off the bench vs Liverpool to get an assist for the penalty that Sigurdsson put away confidently. Big Dom looked sharp, and now he faces arguably the leakiest defences out of all the doublers, Saints and West Brom respectively. If their latest defensive performances should indicate anything, DCL might have consecutive field days in front of goal.

Even with his high ownership, we still do not think DCLs effective ownership will be very high come the Saturday deadline. With many looking to the premiums for the armband, DCL could be an outside shout if you want to go a different way than the masses, while still being able to look forward to some cracking matchups. All things considered; this could be the week where Big Dom rewards those who puts faith in his abilities.

Medium Rare Rating 7/10

Differential Gold💰: Kevin De Bruyne (MCI)

De Bruyne is back from his injury and is ready for the DGWs coming up for Man City. He was rested in midweek by Pep in their UCL game against Monchengladbach, so he looks set to start against the Hammers.

He is owned by only 11.9% of FPL managers and is a differential captaincy pick this GW. West Ham and Wolves aren’t an easy double by any means but Man City are relentless at the moment, and they are beating all the teams for fun. If you are chasing your mini leagues and want to take a punt on captaincy, this Belgian superstar is your man.

Differential Gold Rating: 8/10

Maverick🦅: Lucas Digne (EVE)

Monsieur, starts with the same 3 letters as Monster Haul, actually it’s 4, but who’s counting. Well it could be you, if Digne continues to return. He got an assist against Man City and a clean sheet plus bonus in the generational victory against Liverpool.

Coming up he has, Southampton and West Brom, two fixtures in which his unique brand of Gaelic flair and steel could produce clean sheets and even attacking returns, if he continues to occupy a position further forward.

With KWP out, Ward-Prowse unable to cover at RB as he is needed in the middle, with Romeu out for the season it could be a feast on Monday night, before a trip to a WBA side which could provide him with plenty of space. I am that confident in him, that I would be disappointed if he gets less than 16 points. So let this swashbuckler, grab you as many points as 3 David Unsworth penalties and watch yourself catapult up the ranks

Maverick Rating 9/10

So that’s it! Hopefully these captain options have helped you come to a good decision on who to give the armband to in the upcoming gameweek. We hope they bring you success and a green arrow, and tha you enjoyed this thread! We’ll see you again next week!

Stay Frogtastic🐸
